Cloud Gate (The Bean) |
Millennium Park between the Loop and Lake Michigan was our first place to visit. The Bean, a large stainless steel reflective sculpture is one of the most popular tourist attractions. The curved concave surface reflects visitors and the city skyline in the background. The Bean is amazing—it is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It measures 33 by 66 by 42 feet. It is beautiful, the way it reflects the skyline, and the people, very intriguing. |
