Arches

We drove on to our 5 th park, (if you count the newly designated Grand Stairway as a park). We arrived in Arches in the late afternoon. We first stopped at the Visitors Center. This was a very nice center with a very informative film. We enquired about some hikes we had thought about. She thought the Landscape Arch first, Delicate Arch was nice once you got up there but the hike to that spot was not too exciting. We chose to see the Delicate Arch from the viewpoint, since the weather was going to be cloudy in the morning. We chose to go on the Landscape Arch Hike. Later we found our hotel in Moab…again not too hard since it was on the main street through town! We ate at our favorite place so far this trip: Pasta Jay’s. I would recommend it! Excellent Italian food!

After our stop, and short hike to both the upper and lower overlook of Delicate Arch, we continued on through the Park. On the way to Landscape Arch Trail, we stopped by Salt Valley Overlook and Fiery Furnace.

The hike to Landscape arch was nice. Landscape arch was very beautiful, but with many visible cracks. A large piece had fallen off in the last decade, it may not be around forever. I chose to see Navajo and P-Arch We took the side exertions to the other three arches.
