Birthday celebration. Karen arranged a surprise getaway at the Oregon Garden in Silverton to celebrate my 65 th birthday. We stayed overnight at the new resort at the garden, had a wonderful meal, walked the garden after dinner and enjoyed our night in the wonderful room. Marilyn and Ken (her sister and brother-in-law) joined us and were waiting at the restaurant when we arrived for dinner. Next morning, Ken and Marilyn treated us to champagne breakfast on the patio at their room before breakfast at the lodge and then we all had an extended visit at the garden. Later we went to Silverton for lunch at O’Briens on their balcony on the river. Then off the Silver Falls State Park in the afternoon and a 3-mile hike around North Falls. What a wonderful day. |
