Directions from Downtown Victoria (including Coho and Clipper Ferry Terminal)

The Gardens are about 22km (13.5 miles) from Victoria and there are several transportation options available to you.

  • Travel north on Blanshard, get in the middle lane. This road automatically becomes Highway 17, Pat Bay Highway, northbound.
  • After the lights at Elk Lake (Sayward Rd.), get in the left lane.
  • Turn left off the highway at Tanner Road.
  • Continue approximately 1km; Tanner Road will turn into Central Saanich Road.
  • Turn left onto Keating Cross Road; Keating Cross road will turn into Benvenuto Ave.
  • 35 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic.

Where Are The Gardens

The Butchart Gardens is located on Vancouver Island, 23 km (14 miles) north of Victoria, and 20 km (12.5 miles) south of the Vancouver-Victoria ferry terminal at Swartz Bay. Our street address is 800 Benvenuto Avenue in Brentwood Bay.

Hours and Rates

We are open every day of the year at 9 a.m. except for Christmas day when we open at 1 p.m.

Hours: June 1 to September 15

Monday – Tuesday: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Wednesday to Sunday: 9:00am to 10:00pm

We have a large paved car parking lot, plus another large paved area for buses and RVs. We have designated short term parking for both taxis and public buses.

Parking is free.
