Paris - Day Two - 5th, 6th, & 7th District

The second day did not start off a soon as we had hoped. We stuck to the schedule though and headed to the Orsay Museum. Fortunately we had bought a museum pass and were able to cut the lines almost in half, but we still had to wait about 30 minutes to gain admission. It was great. The museum is a former old train station, very open and airy…until later! The exhibits were very well done, many nineteenth century artists. Not too much religion or battles, neither Wayne nor I like that stuff. An hour there and we were off to the Rodin Museum. First a stop at Rue Cler, a street market and food street. Lunch at an Italian restaurant suggested by Rick Steve’s book and then off to Rodin. He was a sculptor who did The Thinker and the Kiss and the Hands. The museum in a Hotel he had rented during the last about 20 years of his life… It is where he did his work and frolicking. We had planned to see the Paris Sewer tour (I know weird but Rick Steve said it was interesting….but….we headed home…) We took a roundabout way home…not on purpose. But it was OK. We walked and would be looking for a street, but we’d get distracted looking at windows, people views, buildings…and before you knew it we didn’t know where in the hell we were!!!! It happened a couple of times! And this was before wine or beer! Needless to say once we found “home” we found a little sidewalk table with our name on it. I discovered a French Beer 1664…Very good! More shopping wine, baguettes’, cheese and we were set for the night.

Now you see why I am behind in the narrative….
