Paris - Day Four - Notre Dame, Pompidou Ctr., and Arc de Triomphe

Speaking of churches…We revisited the Notre Dame today. We climbed the 400 steps up the narrow spiral staircase to the top of the tower, amazing views.

We then walked over to the Pompidou Center and enjoyed almost a half hour of modern art (unfortunately we were there for one hour). We had lunch on the Left Bank and walked back to the Right Bank up past the Louvre and into the Tuileries Garden. We stopped for a rest by one of the many fountains, and then for a gelato before starting up the CHAMPS-ELYSEES, on our way to the Arc de Triomphe, at the other end of the Champs-Elysees. We climbed to the top of that for more amazing views. Then a metro ride back to St. Germain-des-Pres (and our favorite little street table for a 1664 beer), more shopping for bread at a new favorite bakery, wine and cheese and home we came….After a little more chocolate mousse…all in the name of research.
